“Guru Samarpanam - 2011”

‘Guru Samarpanam’ on September 5th, Teachers’s Day - An occasion to honour great teachers who enlighten the lives of many. A day in a year when we pay our respects to some eminent personalities who inspire and guide hundreds of people. They are the 'Gurus' who contribute immensely to our multi-faceted society. Organised by ‘Call Teachers’ 255 55 555, the unique neighbourhood learning tele- search, introduced by Info Network Management Co P Ltd, who have a successful Tele Information Service “CallEzee 633 33 333” with services All India. ‘Guru Samarpanam’ is a tribute to the great teaching fraternity of Chennai. This was conceptualized in the year 2006 and in the last five years has gained a glorious status by the sheer presence of the distinguished personalities who adorn the list of awardees.

As our mark of respect to all great teachers we have chosen Sept 5th the 'Teachers Day' to confer the 'ParamAcharya' and the 'Acharya' awards on luminaries who are teachers, gurus, trainers, coaches & inspirers from different walks of life .
The year 2006 saw the beginning of ‘Guru Samarpanam’ when we had Bhakti Bharati Pujya Prof. Prema Pandurang to inaugurate the function with her spectacular speech and bestow the awards on our honourable guests. The awardees for the year were Dr.Mrs.Y..G.Parthasarathy, Dr.Padma Subramaniam, Mr M.S.Viswanathan, Mr. K.Balachander, Mr. Gopulu, Mr. T.H.Vinayakaram, Mr. Baranidharan and Dr.Ranagabashyam. The ‘Acharya’ awardees were Mr. U.Srinivas, Ms. Mallika Badrinath, Mr. V.Chandrasekar, Mr. Vasanth, Ms. Anitha Guha and Mr. T.A.Sekar.
In 2007, we had PadmaBhushan Dr.S Badrinath was the chief guest and did the honors. Luminaries like Mr. Lalgudi Jayaraman, Dr. K.V.Thiruvengadam, Dr. Meena Muthiah, Mr. Ganapathy Sthapathy. Arusuvai Arasu were the ‘Paramacharya’ awardees for the year. Acharya awardees for the year were Mr.Y.Gee.Mahendra, Mr. Neyveli ,R.Santhanagopalan, Zeal M.Rajan, Isaimazhalai Ramjhi, Dr.Ambika Kameshwar, and Ms. Suraiya.
In 2008, we had Dr.B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar as the chief guest who presided and the awardees were doyens like Ms. Chitra Visveswaran, Mr. Umayalpuram Sivaraman, Mr. R.Krishnamurthy, Dr.S.Soundarapandian, Mr. Ilango the artist and Mr. Subramania Ganapadigal, Ms. Sudha Ragunathan, Danseuse Shobana, Dr. Nirmala Prasad, Mr. Crazy Mohan, Mr. Malan.
In 2009, we had Dr M Balamuralikrishna was the Chief Guest who presided and the awardees were doyens like Sri. Kavignar Vaali, Sri.Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan, Smt.Leela Samson, Smt. Manorama, Sri.V. Ramachandran, Dr.Kamala Selvaraj, Sri.P.C. Ramakrishnan, Sri. Rajiv Menon, Vidwan T M Krishna, Percussionist Sri. V Selvaganesh, Ms Latha Mohan & Ms. Revathy.
In 2010, Padma Shree Dr (Mrs) YGP was the Chief Guest and Mr S Balasubramanian,MD & CEO, City Union Bank was Guest of Honour and eminent personalities viz. Prof M.S. Ananth, Padma Bhushan Dhananjayans, Padma Shri Dr A. K. Palanivel, Prof Dr. S. Kalyanaraman, Mrs. Sivasankari, Mr.P.S. Raman, Mrs Radikaa Sarathkumar, Dr. Chef Damodaran, Mrs. S. Sowmya were conferred with the awards.
We hope to conduct the function on the same lines of grandeur this year too. We would consider it as a great honour if you could accede your consent to be the “Guest of Honour” to the Gurusamarpanam function for this year, on Sept 5th 2011, Monday beingconducted at Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai and give away the ParamAcharya awards & Acharya awards. We have to inform that Bhakti Bharati Pujya Prof. Prema Pandurang is kind enough to give her consent to bless the function and be the Chief Guest.
